For reals in I have been blessed (Public)

I have not written a real entry since last Wed. I suppose I should catch up. It was just crazy having Jimmy's brother's fam here, and they were always going to and fro trying to pack up their other house so I watched their kids a few time (more than I'd have liked to) and Evan had his photo shoot and it was just a crazy busy week.

Evan's photo shoot went pretty well. He was a bit off track a few times, not listening but nothing crazy. The set stylist (basically the director of the shoot) said this about him,

“I think he is great, but I think he needs a little bit more training.  We got some good shots, but we had to work at it a bit.  He is super cute and has a lot of potential.  I am excited to work with him more.”

That is basically how I felt too. He did get some good shots but she'd have to work for a couple minutes to get that shot, and they had 4 different products to shoot him with so that was a lot of extra "work". I'm just glad he did listen and started to understand what to do. I like him doing this because he really needs to learn to take direction for other adults and learn that you have to act differently when you are "working" (at school, job, around the house), than when you are playing. He's still learning that lesson but I think it's super important. I am hoping he'll have one photo shoot every quarter or so, to help with this.

His photo shoot was with Oriental Trading so we'll see if any of his shots make the catalog or website. The first two shots he was wearing a yellow shirt, and holding posters (one was a watermelon, the second was rectangular but I cannot remember what it was), the third shot was in a red shirt holding a poster about long vowel sounds, and the fourth shot was in a green shirt flying a dinosaur glider.

Allison still has the cough from days ago and Evan started to have a fever on Sunday and did not eat much but nothing else ever happened and he's fine today. It was such a nice weekend and I would have loved to spend a lot of time outside but we had to do a lot of errands and chores and it just did not happen. Thankfully Spring is here and this week should be nice (besides today).

Clara is still taking steps (up to 11) but not walking. She is much happier now that she is not teething but I've taken away the pacifier from her while awake and home (will take it away during all waking hours around 1 year) and she is being very vocal, and expressing her frustrations and happiness loudly! LOL! She is eating mostly "people food" and not baby food. I do have two cases of baby food so I try to give her one jar each day. It's just 24 jars of Earth's Best, not a ton of food. Today she tried homemade chicken strips for the first time. She loved them, and of course, still loves cheese. She's drinking water well from a sippy cup but I'm trying to figure out how to introduce milk in a cup. She has totally rejected formula in a cup so I've stopped offering it. She gets about 2 ounces, sometimes 4 ounces, of formula each day on top of nursing 4-5 times a day. She is doing quite well considering I'm down to 50 mg of domperidone now from my high of 90 mg just 4-6 weeks ago.

I'm not sure what to do about breastfeeding. I want to be off the domperidone. I am cutting 1 pill every 2 weeks until I get down to 3 pills...I think. But if I do that I will actually make it another 100 days, so I basically have 3+ months worth of nursing left...I hope. I should make it until she's 14 months on the pills and then we will see what happens. In some ways I just want to be DONE, not with nursing but with the pills, but it seems, with me, if I'm  not on the pills I am not able to nurse, just don't make enough to make it tempting, so the chances are that will be the end. I just feel like the pills are causing some negative side effects in my body and I'm hoping that getting lower and lower doses will help.

Allison is still going through the horrendous 3's but she can be super sweet and kind too. I can already see "middle child syndrome" in her though. Always vying for my attention. I'm trying to give her extra attention for the good things she does. She's doing fantastic in school and we have her parent/teacher conference in 2 weeks. I have no doubt she'll do well. She saves all her bad behavior for home. She's actually quite opposite of Evan in that. He was always better behaved at home at her age. She is growing so big, at least for one of my children. She is in the 60th percentile for both height and weight. It's just crazy to me. Size 4's are starting to fit. Size FOUR and she's not even four. She is constantly asking to be in dance class so I'm working hard to find a dance studio for her.

Evan is just not into sports. He's in soccer right now and not very interested at all. He wants to dance too so I'm trying to find a place to take both kids. He likes to play sports when it's just the two of us but told me at his soccer game on Saturday "Those kids are not very polite! They are pushing the white team and not waiting their turns." LOL! I just hope to find something he loves. He liked swimming a lot so if nothing else works out I'll re-enroll him in swimming. That kid is getting SO skinny. He continues to lose weight. I'm still not worried just yet. But if he drops another half pound I  might call the doc. I'm thinking he just has been very active lately and needs to eat a bit more. He has lost 1 lb in 4 months. He has dropped down to 37.5 lbs fully clothed. He was nearly 39 lbs fully clothed back in November. But he does not appear to be unhealthy. He is growing in height and just super active. He's now in the 16th percentile for weight and 40th for height. He is looking so big now too because he has lost almost all his baby fat, is wearing ankle socks, athletic shorts and a T-shirt

A few pictures! It's been a while.

Clinging to me after my run this morning. She has a wee bit of separation anxiety.

Chilling with her uncle Jack and Cousin Katy last week. Clara was so tired!

Looking so grown up today.
