A very tall high-school junior, Amy, came in for a haircut yesterday. She’s a sloucher and doesn’t talk much. Half Russian. Head lice.
Of course I didn’t notice the little bugs until I had already started hacking at her long golden hair. The iron was passing section by section, 475 degrees F, little bugs sizzling, melting, sticking to the ceramic plates. It was disgusting. But I kept going. I couldn’t let her leave with a half haircut.
