The fall that wasn't in My life both public and private!

I love the fall in NJ. Going to JETS games even though they suck. Going to local wineries for a tasting. I am usually the DD but still enjoy a glass of wine some cheese and grapes and the lovely fall weather. Local runs at breweries or towns in the area. The HoBooken 5k when everyone dresses up and going to one if the terrific restaurants in Hoboken. Apple picking and hay rides. We did both but it just wasn’t the same. It seems we are living in an alternate universe.

I miss the Halloween Parade at school with all the students and teachers dressed up. The Trick or Treaters at our condos. Now it is only Trick or Trunk in the parking lot from Noon-2. It just seems the fall is not the same. And it isn’t. I miss holding hands with Steve and going to craft fairs. So many fall things I really enjoy are just not the same this fall. Oh well it will get better soon we all hope.

Steve is at my parents helping my dad blow the leaves and clean up the yard. My parents have a pretty big yard so my dad does need the help. Even if he won’t admit it. This is only the first time. I am sure they will have to do it at least 2 more.times. Its a really cool and crisp day today. When he finishes up I am going to pick up pizza and wings from Anthony’s Coal Fired pizza for dinner. And then we will eat at.my parents. I am really pleased Steve gets along with my dad. But they should. They are extremely similar in so many ways it is scarey. But neither will admit it. And I love both if them very much.

Steve and I both voted and he dropped off the ballots at a local drop off.box behind the police station. Ha asked me who I voted for but I opted to keep it a secret. I know who he voted for as he is a very vocal Trump supporter as is my dad. I can’t and won’t talk politics with either of them. Neither will my mom. We have both found its a good way to keep the peace.

I am still struggling with the hybrid schedule. I really like structure in the school system and this is not. The classes seem forced with very little flow to them. I still enjoy.the afternoons when I work with the Child Study Team but even that is harder as students only attend class 2 days a week. So its very difficult to get a good handle on a lot.of the issues at hand. Steve has adjusted well to the schedule. But he is a HS math teacher. And that is pretty cut and dried. He also works at a very good hs so he has few problems with assignments being completed and attendance on his video classes.

Both of our tennis teams did okay. The schedule for both of our teams was cut short due to Covid shut downs. I had one girl test positive and so did Steve. So both hs suspended the season short. I was a little disappointed for some of the srs. On the team. But at least we had a partial season. The girls softball team had no season so the srs. never got to play a game in their final year.

Only.one day of school next week. Closed on Tuesday for election day even though I don’t think they are doing any in person voting. We are closed on Wednesday for the Hybrid schedule and then Teachers Convention Thursday and Friday. We have not made any plans but I am.sure we will do something.
