I got a zoo pass today, which is something I think about doing every year. The weather was cooperative and I think it will help with my budget since even thought it was a $100 up front cost, it should provide some free weekend fun this summer. And I threw the roomie and his kid on there since they'll probably get more use out of it than I will anyway.

And I always love the Wildlights around Christmas time, so that's something I can do several times this year if it's not as frigid next winter as it was last.

I've been meeting with another actuary (she works for OPERS so she does very different work from me, working on the public side whereas I work with private pension plans, but she's studying for the exams I passed last year and I'm studying for an exam she passed several years ago) and studying at Panera Saturday mornings and Sunday evenings. She actually lives in the same neighborhood that I used to, and even looked at the house we ended up buying. She's a few years older than I am. Since the actuarial community is so small, especially the pension actuarial community in Columbus, we seem to bump into each other all the time. And then when we started bumping into each other in places entirely unrelated to actuarial work or functions, we decided to start intentionally bumping.

She's very nice, but I don't think she's going to be a close friend. She's very polite. My style of befriending someone is to just make very candid and sometimes a little awkward comments about my personal life until the other person finds me endearing and feels comfortable enough to open up a little, too. That, or they find me disturbing and find ways to not spend time with me anymore. It's likely one of the many reasons why I don't have many friends. And I have almost no casual friends. It's all or nothing for me. So she seems to put up with me, but she doesn't offer up too much about herself in return. I think I am merely a study buddy to her, and that's okay.

House is going on the market in four days. Wow! I'm really hoping for a quick sell, because I would love to not have to keep renting for much longer. I'm expecting a long sale time, but I can still hope for something quick and painless.
