Kayla and Timmy have each decided on a college for next year and sent in their deposits. As of now they should be able to move in at the end of August. They will leave campus right before Thanksgiving and take their finals online.

This weekend is their school’s virtual prom. They have done several virtual proms but this is their school’s prom, so it is special. My stepsister is doing Kayla’s hair, which is great because I wouldn’t have a clue. We will take lots of pictures.

Between deciding on schools and having the prom, it is starting to feel real that they are heading to college and won’t be living here. It is still hard to believe. Didn’t they just start kindergarten?

These are certainly difficult times that we are living in. I was a senior in high school at the time of the Rodney King police verdict. It is depressing that we are still dealing with the same injustices almost thirty years later. But it is good to see so many people getting involved to help make things better.

Aaron has chosen his classes for next year. He is taking English 10, World History, Biology, Trigonometry, Spanish, Art Appreciation, and Physical Education. He will also have a study hall.
