Saturday Accomplished in Random Thoughts

So I’m still working on Laundry, but I got some other stuff done already, and am waiting on my food to be done. Another nuke-a-meal. Terminal bachelor. Meh.
A few minutes later, and I’m done eating, and laundry is in the dryer.

So I did a little diagnosing on the garage door versus gate issue. Yeah, not as simple as I thought. I unhooked all the crap I thought might be the issue. Nope, still having the same issue. One more thing to check, but I’ll check it tomorrow. It’s almost 11pm now, and I don’t feel like playing with the gate this late at night. One more thing I can check.

I had bought a new overhead console for my truck that has a HomeLink built in (universal garage door opener remote), which I’ve wanted to do for a while, cause I’m tired of having to remember to grab a remote, or take one out when I get home so I don’t have to worry about leaving one in the truck, since I have to leave it in the carport for right now. Was a little more involved than I thought. I thought it was going to be a matter of just unplugging the old one and plugging in the new one. Nope. The plugs are different. Because my truck didn’t come with this particular console, wiring wasn’t provided for the HomeLink. It wasn’t too bad. Just had to run a couple of new wires from the console down under the dash. The pain in the ass part was getting to the wires I needed to access to tie it in as well as figuring out where in the hell to tie it into. I spliced the original connector from the new console into the wiring so the lights could work, then powered the HomeLink off the ignition so it won’t work unless the key is on, then tied the backlights for the buttons into the dash lights circuit behind the headlight switch. Nice little OEM upgrade. I’m not a fan of the aftermarket. Both of my cars are bone stock, no tuners, no massive intakes or exhausts, no big stereos, no subwoofers, no goofy wheels, no idiotic stances, just stock. Well, except for the piece of shit aftermarket stereo head unit that was in the car when I bought it. I have an OEM head unit for it, I’ve just not gotten around to putting it in. Gotta find a way to add bluetooth to it before I have it put in, plus the automatic headlight kit I bought for it.

Again, you see why I call this book “Random Crap”.

Fatass is out of cat food again after tonight. Looks like I will have to get up and do something tomorrow after all.

It’s 11:11. I make a wish, but I know it’s about as useful as pissing on a spark plug. It’s the same wish every time. Oddly, no it has nothing to do with my latest FB addition. I still have no idea what I’m doing on that front. Meh.

I think I’m going to call it a day. If my clothes don’t come out of the dryer soon, I’ll just tumble them again a little tomorrow so I can put them up.
