First of all, here is a raw list of The most visited tourist countries in the world :

France
Spain
United States
China
Italy

Here, now, is a list of the richest countries in the world per capita :

Qatar
Macau
Singapore
Brunei
Kuwait
Bermuda
U.A.E.
Norway

Luxembourg
Hong Kong
Switzerland
USA
Ireland
Saudi Arabia
Netherlands
Denmark
Sweden
Germany
Austria
Canada

It appears that few in the media are even bothering to report the underlying reality that the Covid trends as displayed around the world are more a function of wealth and interest (by those who ARE relatively wealthy) than they are of whether your government did or did not properly address the early concerns based on misinformation from China.

Next we’ll look at places which have known/reported the highest number of Covid cases per capita (aka “hardest hit” by Covid). (for this whole presentation we should probably overlook those spots which are very small in population or which are mere cities or islands - because the odd outbreak here or there could really skew the data in those small areas)

As of 5pm eastern U.S.A. time on May 19, 2020, the website: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

gave these rankings:

San Marino
Vatican City
Qatar
Andorra
Luxembourg
Spain
Iceland
Mayotte
Singapore
Ireland
Belgium
USA

Gibraltar
Bahrain
Isle of Man
Kuwait
Faeroe Islands
Falkland Islands
Italy
UK
Switzerland
Belarus

Channel Islands
Sweden
Portugal
Peru
France
Chile
Netherlands

Extracting the truly significant countries from those, you get:

Qatar
Spain
Ireland
Belgium
USA
Italy
UK
Switzerland
Belarus
Sweden
Portugal
Peru
France
Chile
Netherlands

The path of this whole virus is strongly a function of which populations can best afford to go jet-setting all over the world as well as all over their own countries. The number of Covid cases in a random country do not correlate as much to that country’s random response TO the virus as they do to how many people could afford to, and were interested in bringing it to their populations.

So it stood to reason from the outset that the most free and most wealthy countries would likely be hit the hardest, and that the USA would occupy the top spot. The USA has the quadruple whammy

wealth
freedom to go
a relatively large population
AND a sought-after destination for foreign citizens
.

Even though Spain is not on the list of the world’s wealthiest countries, it occupies a prominent spot up high on the list of destination countries, whether it be for geographic convenience or general appeal. (those countries whose citizens have the wealth, quite often went to Spain to visit)

No surprise that Qatar tops the USA Today list of world’s richest countries in this list:
https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2019/07/07/richest-countries-in-the-world/39630693/

There is a remarkably strong correlation between wealth, freedom, and Covid infection. There are far too many (fools) on earth right now who are watching the graphs and the curves they think they’re trying to “flatten” who are NOT taking into consideration that they are merely comparing “today” only to times when basically nobody was flying willy-nilly as they normally do.

So what we did… in February/March-ish, was just simply STOP the vast majority of the motion around the world, the effects of which were already on the ground and infecting whoever’s ground it was when the motion stopped. That’s how the Covid cards were dealt this time around.

When various factions of world society re-open too soon, the effects of Covid will wreak havoc once the world’s citizens return to their trends of dotting the globe. If those wishing to take leave of the European summer go in great numbers to the African winter (where the weather might then be tolerable to northerners), the Covid numbers could reach levels we haven’t even contemplated just yet. (yet if still nobody GOES to South Sentinel Island… Covid won’t GO there either)(same is relatively true of lots of shunned places on earth)

But as for now, if you’re reading this from the USA, the fact that USA is far and away the most INfected by Covid… shouldn’t be as much a surprise to you as it would have been were you merely reading about the impact of some plague from 300 years ago.

What I keep thinking is that the second wave was the really deadly one in 1918/1919.
