I'm doing an experiment this week with my weight. I'm eating right around the 1800 calorie mark and not doing any formal exercise to see if my body will still lose weight this way. On the one hand you can say I'm being lazy but then if you consider that it is pretty much my sole responsibility to take care of these 2 kids every day and get them fed, changed, dressed, play with them, keep them healthy and happy then you know that I am far from lazy. It will be interesting to see if I lose any weight. I bet I will just cuz I do a LOT in a day (oh yeah I clean too of course) and there's no way you can be exhausted at the end of every day and not have burned quite a number of calories.
I find the day seems a lot longer if I stay in with the kids and don't go anywhere. Like seriously, Miles wakes up at 7am and it feels like 500 years before my husband gets home at 5pm. So yesterday I took Cody to this church play centre I go to sometimes because he loves it like crazy and I was sick of being in the house. It wasn't exactly a rest or anything though since I had to hold Miles for the whole 2 hours. I tried putting him in an exersaucer they have there or sitting him on a mat but he just wanted to be in my arms looking around at all the kids. That's normal for him though. The best part is when I get home after going there when it closes at 11:30am I easily put both kids to bed and I'm able to have my lunch and relax for a bit. 45 minutes if Miles decides to be annoying and have a short nap but it's usually more like an hour and a half.
This morning I decided to take the kids out again. We went to the mall so I could try out my new side by side stroller and get my niece's birthday gift. The stroller worked pretty well besides some squeakiness issues which hopefully I can fix as I'm sure my husband would find that annoying. This was the first time Miles was in a stroller where he wasn't facing me so he was a little fussy, especially if I stopped to look at something, but overall they were pretty good. I got my niece (she's turning 5) some dress up clothes and a craft and made sure to go to the arena in our mall which is near the food court because Cody is obsessed with hockey right now and ice and seeing Zamboni's and he got lucky because the Zamboni was cleaning the ice as we got there. He is completely beside himself with excitement when he sees that thing for some reason lol. So we watched the skaters for a bit, I had a coffee and we all shared some yogurt from Tim Horton's and then Miles was being fussy and wouldn't sleep in the stroller so we came home and now they're napping :)
I'm trying to figure out the idea time of day to go to my parents on Friday. And by that I mean do I wait until Miles gets up and then feed him and go? Or do I wait until he is almost ready for a nap before leaving for the 2 hour drive so he'll sleep? I should also not go right in the morning so that Cody will have a chance to get sleepy for the drive too because there is no way he will agree to have a nap once we get there when he hasn't seem my parents in 3 months and will be crazy excited. Life is so complicated when you have kids and have to pack for them as well as consider their nap schedules before going somewhere lol.
And now I will leave you with some pictures....my new stroller is in there as well as pictures of Miles sitting up and in his new booster seat high chair as well as the completely adorable outfit he got from my brother for Christmas which I put him in today which made him look like a little teddy bear :)
