Somewhat irritatingly, I now have the cats from the house and will be keeping them until the house sells. Chris texted me last night and all but forced me to take them then and there. So far the dog got so excited that he peed all over the carpet, and neither cat is happy to be here. One is camped out in the living room with a very suspicious eye on that dog, and the other is wedged under the bed.
They'll adjust. Just in time for me to get reattached and then they'll go back home. That's how it works.
Also filed the taxes yesterday and they were accepted. Chris withheld his tax information this year until the separation agreement was signed, which is why I'm filing them a month and a half later than I usually would. With Chris's impressive lack of taxes paid last year we are only getting a combined federal and local return of $1,400 less fees. So about $635 each. Meh. That will cover a chunk of the painting and carpeting rework we are having done next week.
I just want everything to be done with already.
