We are continuing with distance learning and school at home. The kids have been completing their assignments. The decision has been made that Advanced Placement Exams will be done at home. The exams will be forty-five minutes each, and will have one or two free answer questions. They will be open book / open notes. It will be interesting to see how this works out. Kayla and Timmy have also been working as online tutors to younger kids.

It is kind of sad that they are missing the spring semester of their senior year. The school has been great about keeping the kids involved, but it is still not the same as a “normal” end of high school. They will most likely not have a prom. Not sure what will happen with graduation. So kind of sad. Timmy and Kayla are making the best of it and have been able to stay virtually involved with their classmates.

Aaron has been doing fairly well with the sudden transition to online learning. As he is a ninth grader he has never had an end of high school year before. There will be no state Regents exams this year. Instead, the school districts will have their own end-of-the-year virtual assignments.

Spring has arrived early this year. The flowers are blooming and some of the trees are starting to get leaves. We have been trying to get outside.

My husband and I have been working from home. He was already working from home quite a bit. We are fortunate that his income has remained relatively stable. We will see how things go. I would usually go into the office a few days a week. I have about half of the client work I used to have. My work is starting to switch things to videoconferencing, so things may pick up soon. I have been trying to use the time to update my skills.

Otherwise I have been trying to stay busy. I have done some online museum tours and watched some old sporting events and new shows.
