Six weeks in lockdown now (give or take a couple of days).

It’s difficult to know what to write really, because we can’t actually do much - although the allownace for a walk is nice, so I’ll talk about the one from last Friday.

It was a really lovely sunny day and the wind had dropped off, so Tom decided to have a “half day” from working from home, and the three of us went out for a walk to a local open space (an old ruin with a moat, which dates from around the 1200’s apparently). We went there and did a circuit by the moat (it’s about 60% complete, the moat) and we saw lots of birds - moorhens, mallard ducks, robins, a blue tit, blackbirds to name the ones I can remember. At a more secluded spot there was a small gap to the moat (part of it is enclosed by loads of bushes for wildlife) and there was a small rock… and on the rock there were three turtles!

We think that someone must have released them some while back, but they seemed happy sunning themselves there.

Noelle didn’t think much of it as she slept pretty much all through the walk!

In some ways it’s nice that Tom came here, it’s six weeks now, and we do feel like a proper family (well two families if you include my parents in the mix!). It’s also good that we can be here with Noelle all day, it’s perfect for her I think to have both parents around at this early point in her life. She’s certainly growing - and crawling - and she has a list of hobbies! Sleeping, crawling, feeding, and cuddling mum, dad, granny and grandpa.

Hope everyone is staying safe!
