I don’t know if it came in like a lion or a lamb. Was a beautiful morning yesterday. But started snowing before I went to bed. We have an inch or two of fresh white out there this morning. It’s still thinking about adding more…heavy, low clouds up there. It’s 25 degrees right now, but is supposed to clear up and be nice later. Guess we probably won’t cancel our ladies Monday bridge lunch.
Speaking of bridge, we hosted our couples’ monthly game Saturday evening. We tried something different this time around. Our apartment, as I have mentioned before, is not very big. When we entertain two tables, we have to move our big recliners out of the living rom in order to set up a card table and also use our kitchen table. It’s still crowded and not very comfortable. Our building has “commons” areas that we are entitled to use for private functions, including a “card room”. All we have to do is reserve it (and make sure we clean up after, of course.) We decided to take advantage of it this time. Had to bring down the snacks and dessert as well as cards, etc. Using one of the common carts we have here, that worked out real well. We won’t have to have it again until June and we will probably try to use the card room again then.
Yes, I play bridge a lot. Find it frustrating, and sometimes think I hate it but Bob encourages me to hang in for the social (and mental) advantages. I know he’s right but it would be more fun if I could get better cards!!!!
Bob saw the dermatologist last week and they took four biopsies, and “froze” several other places. So many years working out in the sun.... I think he will probably have to Mohs procedure on at least on of those sites. Haven’t got results yet.
Sad news from our old home neighbors. Husband has been admitted to memory care. This couple were our good friends from the time we bought some land from them in North Dakota and lived next door for a couple of years. They were there for us when John died and many other times over the 27 years we were there. We did everything together. Shared holidays,
kids’ weddings, fishing trips, secrets, Everything!!! I miss them a lot and am so very sad for her: he is happy.
Next week we “spring up” when Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday. Some people really hate the time changes. Doesn’t bother me much. It might take a day or two to adjust but my schedule (haha!) is flexible.
