Breaking news! The state of Michigan, the place I am from just legalized same sex marriage. I do not necessarily believe in marriage, yet I have nothing against others that do. I do believe that this is wonderful progress for our state. Also for society as a whole, and for our country. To me equality is something I believe in, and something worth fighting for.
I personally do not ever foreseeing myself taking part in the whole marriage/wedding thing. I do not like the idea that two individuals are supposed to become one, throw a big expensive party just to come out of it with photos, and a piece of paper just to prove they love each other. Maybe my parents divorce has jaded me in some way, yet I still do not see that marriage is fit for me. However for those individuals that do believe marriage is the way to go I will still support them.
Every person has rights gay or not. therefore I also believe every person should have the same opportunities. With that being said I support same sex marriage.I fight for equality, That is what really speaks to me and something I find very important. I am proud of Michigan for finally making same sex marriage legal and possible.
