Right from the start let me put to rest any ideas that this post is chauvinist in any way. I just stole the title of one of Sir James Paul McCartney’s lyrics.
Over the weekend I had a reminder that I really should listen to those voices inside my head that tell me to do or not do something. Conscience, premonition, karma, bad voodoo, kismet, fate, whatever you wish to called, I have got to learn to pay attention.
I am watching a Robin Williams movie and wondered what was his last movie. So I grab my phone and start a Google search, “What was the last movie”, and before I could finish, Robin Williams appeared in the search. Hmmm, is Google reading my thoughts? And that’s not the first time some similar has happened.
On to my next voice. I have put a pan of peanut brittle on the counter to cool. I placed it on top of a bowl. Why? Too lazy to move the bowl!!! (Remember that comment) I go sit down and this little voice says, “Don’t leave the pan sitting on that bowl.” About 10 seconds later I hear this loud crash in the kitchen. Yeap, you guessed it, the pan somehow slid off the bowl and landed upside down on the floor.
Moral of the story, don’t ignore those seemingly meaningless voices.... You’ve been warned.
