Merry Hypocrites Day, where bigoted and narrow-minded adherents of a relatively young cult celebrate a fictional hippie’s birth in a festival stolen wholesale from the pagans’ own ancient tradition of Yuletide by indulging in greed, avarice and crass commercialism (all of which, coincidentally, were against said ficitonal hippie’s teachings) whilst pretending to care for their fellow man for one day before reverting back to type and being nasty, bigoted and narrow-minded for every other day of the year. Gotta love that irony, right?

I’m clearly no Christian so this is just another day for me but should I still be conscious by mid-afternoon I’ll be going out and feeding the local homeless and possibly getting drunk with a few of them. Because you don’t have to pretend to be religious in order to be a good person, folks.
