God, with skin on in God, With Skin On

Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

The Christmas story, simple but such a profound effect on our life’s. Luke’s account is my favorite, it seems to tell the story like a painter working on a canvas. God becomes man, with skin on. Yes I know the theological debate, but somethings you just have to take by Faith. This is one of them.

God puts on skin, a human form, to save humanity. Why? This whole plan seems a little crazy to me. There had to be an easier way. First step, take away freewill. That would have solved the problem. Humans, get no choice. But then, Lucifer started this whole mess with his rebellion. Why not just deal with him? This would have made life a whole lot simpler.

But for what ever reason, God chose to put on skin, in the form of Jesus and live among us. The example He set is still followed by Christians all around the world. So this Holiday season, let each and every one of us, regardless of race, creed, nationality, or sex, just be kind to one another. Smile, say hello, offer to help someone. It only takes a minute and you will feel better for it.
