Spring Break

The hospital I work at is located within Houston's museum district. It's convenient for employees with families because then you get your free parking whenver you take the family to the various museums or zoo. Which is the problem I'm having right now, the area is overcrowded and the traffic is backed up because it's Spring Break so families are visiting the museum distict

My already horrendous commute has an extra 15 minutes now

While stuck in this extra traffic, I was letting my MP3 player go randomly and it fittingly played "Spring Break Anthem" by The Lonely Island, haha. That song makes me laugh, so does the video. In case you haven't seen it, it's a mix of a Lonely Island music video and an episode of Zack Galifinakis' "Between Two Ferns", with James Franco and Edward Norton in it

It also reminds me when my friends heard it that they thought it was just randomly dumb fun. But it was clever! Some people think they're insulting gay marriage in the lyrics when they go off on a checklist of things like: Excessive drinking, pranks on passed out people, jokes about roofies, wet t-shirt contests, men marrying men

But that's what's funny about it! All the "marry a man" stuff they mention is romantic, genuine, and classy. All the wedding planning, and "two kings walking hand-in-hand", mixed in with the stereotypical dumb Spring Break fun

moral of the story: Excessive drunkeness, wild reckless behavior, wet t-shirt contests, random one-night stands, male gay marriage (in the classiest wedding scenario possible)... all lumped together because they're sterotypically viewed as immoral, inappropriate behavior. Clever way to send a message!

Have a Nice Day!

You know, I try really really hard to like Between Two Ferns but I don't find it funny at all. Maybe I'm just a weirdo.

No, you have to like his kind of comedy to like his show. And even if you did, there's episodes where it's just really weird. So even if you're a fan (which I am), his jokes in it are still a swing for the fences, hit-or-miss type deal

Same for The Lonely Island songs, some are clever and funny, and some you just feel embarrassed for them for making it, haha

Have a Nice Day!
