I used to work in the medical profession, so I have decided to share a story from that time period.
I know this may sound like a well thought out lie, but some days, life is just too funny. Elderly Lady comes into the office today to have a procedure done. Dr. introduces me and explains to the lady he will have to numb the area. She looks at me and asks, “What is your name again?” I said, ‘Douglas’....she smiles and looks at me and says, ‘Douglas, would you come over here and hold my hand while the Dr. gives me the shot”.
After giving ample time for the shot to take effect, back in the room we go. Pt introduces us to her daughter in law. I tell the daughter in law, “Anything she told you about me holding her hand or hugging her is a lie.....she laughs and says, “She has already told me about you!” (I have a reputation in the clinic?) As the procedure is started pt states she can FEEL it.....hmmm, did I put the wrong meds in that syringe? Dr. turns to me and says go get another one. I return, hand the Dr. the meds and the pt looks at me and says, “Douglas, come here and hold my hand again!”.....I looked at her and said, “I have never had a woman willing to take a second shot just to get me to hold their hand and give them a hug!” ........and you thought I wasn’t a gentleman!!!
