today is my 26th birthday. its been a pretty quiet day. hopefully about to get a little wild and crazy in about an hour.
last night i went out for happy hour with some of my teacher friends. its always nice to hang out with them. they bought me 2 beers and a piece of cheese cake and sang happy birthday to me. it was so sweet! usually, you get a cake in the morning at school and all the teachers will come to your room to sing to you, but i dont think anyone knew it was my birthday, so they made up for it at night which was sweet. i was at the bar until 9pm, about 2 hours later than i wanted to me. part of it wasnt my fault...i had to wait AN HOUR AND A HALF for a parent to pick up her child from orchestra rehearsal. seriously...i wasnt happy. and my principal did NOTHING. didnt even speak to the parent. oh well!
i should have done some lesson plans today, but who wants to work on their birthday? i had to drop off our apartment applications and it looks like everything is good to go for us to move in at the end of the month! the unit we originally looked at had already been rented, so the realtor showed me a unit that was still being worked on. almost the same exact apartment. only difference was there was ceramic floors in the living room instead of carpet. carpet in the bedroom though. a few new doors too. so hopefully all goes well with the landlord. we'll know in about a week if we're good to go. cross your fingers for us!! the next step is getting all of our finances together...its gonna cost a bunch to move, but its worth it. first months rent, same amount for security deposit, and same amount for the realtor. sigh its worth it though...
after that, i went to starbucks, dropped off some clothes in the donation bin, and came home to shower and relax. got ready, headed to the mall, got another chai (first one was hot, second one was iced...so good! and the 2nd barista let me know that is her EXACT order too which is always fun...and the first 1 was free since its my birthday. yay starbucks!) and got some clothes at JCPenny. seriously...im loving JCP recently! really cute stuff at decent prices and its not shit clothes like some stores. its actually made nicely. i tried on some things at new york and company, but nothing fit me exactly. ill need to go to the other one in forest hills and get some things. the store in the mall is always picked over. i was hoping to find an outfit for tonight, but i didnt find anything. i did find my rehearsal dinner dress, however! got a basic white tshirt, 2 under shirts (mine are desperate looking) and a button down blouse. i may wear the blouse tonight...still deciding.
headed off to the beer garden soon. waiting for dann to get home and shower before we head out. he should be here any minute. i should really start getting ready...
alright ill post about tonight probably tomorrow. im totally going to regret not doing lesson plans today, but it is what it is. later!
