You were always on my mind in Life After 60

Many an artist has recorded this wonderful love song or failure of love depending on how you look at it. And I know we all have our favorites. Mine just happens to be a fellow born just up the road from me in Stillwater, OK by the name of James Marsden. (No disrespect to Willie Nelson or Elvis Presley.)
Of course, my hats off to the guys who penned the words. Maybe because I am a writer myself. Wayne Carson, Johnny Christopher, Mark James brought this song to the world and what a song it is.
My own take on it is that it is a reflection of a man looking back on his life and realizing he has neglected the most wonderful woman in the world for everything else and now is trying his best to keep from losing her. But sometimes it too little, too late, too bad, and the words can’t change the situation.
For the really adventurous, I just finished my rendition of the song. It is posted on soundcloud. So if you’re bored, run on over and check it out. Here the link, and by the way, don’t let love pass you by because you were too busy with life!
