So now that I've decided to observe Lent for this year, the big question looms, what shall I release and the corollary, what positive things shall I start?
First of all, there are many things I would like to release, but I think I shall limit it to just a few for now, as I figure that trying to release many would just overwhelm me.
- Alcohol - while not something that I feel a need to let go of, but it is a lot of empty calories I have pretty much every day, and I've set myself a goal for losing weight this year, and this is one way of kick starting that
- Negative thinking - I see too many negative thoughts running through my head, and it's all part of a negative self image. I want to be mindful of those negative thought patterns and replace them with a pattern of acceptance and good thoughts. This one may be more difficult than I think, but I want to do it.
There may be more things I'll add to the list as Lent goes along. It doesn't mean I'll be doing this for the full 40 days, but that's ok. This is a season for making a change, and I'll start with those 2 up there and add in some others as time goes on.....
