My son's visit the doctor yesterday was quick and simple. He was just having normal heat rashes that follow a viral fever days later. So it wasn't a big deal like measles, and he went back to daycare yesterday afternoon with the doctor's note. A lot of the rashes went away this morning, so he looks brand new! Haha, they started showing up on Saturday and they typically stay 3-4 days

My wife keeps friends with former co-workers. Well one already had two kids, and she wanted to throw a party for my wife and son. A mom and baby type party. Another former co-worker just had a baby as well, and she was going to join them. Until they saw on FB (via my wife's posts) that my son had a fever and heat rashes. So they cancelled the party, fearing my son would spread the virus

Except the party wasn't for another 2 weeks, haha. I understand as a parent, but only if it was closer to when the kid was sick. Over 2 weeks? That's a bit excessive. I could also understand that one of them is a first time mom with a 6-week or so baby. But the mother of two whose youngest is at least one-year-old? I don't know, maybe she'd keep them in a bubble if she could

It's okay, one of our neighbors is throwing a birthday party for her 2 year old son that same day. Our son isn't uninvited to that :P

moral of the story: Our son's birthday parties will be hazmat suit themed so parents won't have to worry about kids spreading germs!

Have a Nice Day!

It's understandable if they wanted to give him time to heal from whatever they think he has but two weeks is pretty extensive.

Yes, it's strange they would cancel the party this far ahead of time. Even if they thought he could somehow still be sick by then, they could always take a wait-and-see attitude.

RYN: We are going to Oahu, too.

I've actually only walked on a couple of beaches (in S California and Galveston), and never actually spent time on a beach. After your recommendations, I'm looking forward to our trip even more. :D

We have been researching things to do and see, but do you have any "don't miss" suggestions?

Everything. Everything you want to do, make sure you do it and seize the moment! Haha. There's a bus tour, I forgot the name of it, that takes about a whole day but it takes you around the whole island. My wife and I did that the first day. It's a fun little intro, and you'll get to see all around and visit various places so you could see things you'd want to do later on during your visit and get a feel for everything. We were happy we did that the first day

A little inside info on bus tours there: They reserve the front seats for people who are handicapped or who may get motion sickness. My wife gets motion sickness, so we always got to sit in the front. Which is cool because you also get off the bus first for visits, haha

Have a Nice Day!

Oh and Germaine's Luau is cool! You have to see a luau while there
