Hurt and Confused in Married Life

Last night, after my husband fell asleep and I finished crying over the whole birthday fiasco, I left and went to my moms house for awhile. When I came back, I walked into our room and he grabbed me and pulled me close to him on the bed and started initiating sex with me. Super passionate sex, that almost seemed like an apology. I was honestly just so relieved that he still is passionate about me, and I had felt deprived for quite awhile so I happily went along with it. Towards the end, he started slowing down a lot and eventually stopped me before he had finished (which he never does) so that left me confused. I asked him if he was tired and he said yes, so I started getting ready for bed. He then said “I just want you to know I wasn’t awake for most of that; I didn’t wake up till the end.” Now, I can tell you for sure there was NO way he was asleep. We were getting up, changing positions, he was all over the place and super active. I am so confused and hurt by it because I no there’s no way he was asleep, so I’m wondering if he was just horny and wanted sex but then remembered he’s supposed to be mad and holding a grudge against me? I’m so confused, and honestly feel so stupid for giving him what he wanted so enthusiastically, just for him to turn around and basically say “yeah I’d never want that with you if I were actually awake.”
