Another s**t of a week with miles driven in damn-awful weather. Another 12 hr day of Health checks in Ipswich, was preceded by a day’s team meeting at Head Office (also over 100 miles away from home!} ,but at least I got an over-night hotel stay the preceding day.
Lee still hasn’t totally recovered yet. Still having to use his wheelchair as his leg hurts when he uses his crutches. His head cold is lingering causing him to lose his voice and I think its affecting his sinuses cos his ears hurt too. Hopefully getting him to the GP this week for some anti-biotics as I think this is more than just a virus. This coming week is a little easier but still has another day of Health checks on Wednesday, which means another long day including travelling. I’ll be glad when this project is finished. At least the meeting last Wednesday gave me the opportunity to tell the management exactly what I think of it!! I am sure they won’t ask me to do another one.
In the meantime I have actually volunteered for something! The programme I work with (my main job!) issues a quarterly magazine. My boss sent an e-mail to our team saying they wanted someone from the “field team” to contribute, so I replied asking what it entailed as I didn’t want to take on anything else that was going to take loads of time. Next thing I knew I receive an e-mail from the editor saying the next editorial meeting is on April 8th! Seems like I volunteered! I have to say I don’t mind because I’ve always been interested in “Journalism” and by then the other project will be just about finished.
Visited the Triumph dealer yesterday (Saturday). Took the panniers in for my Trophy to complete the bike, along with the paperwork for it. They haven’t got it in the showroom yet, because they’ve been busy with getting bikes ready for the new plate. Our number plates change twice a year, March and September. So these are busy times for dealers. They had 10 new bikes going out yesterday, most of them Triumphs. It’s still the No.1 selling bike in the UK right now.
Right, I’m going to make the best of the rest of Sunday, Dawn’s got a nice roast chicken cooking for dinner. Monday comes around much too soon!
Catch ya later, people.
