Today, the Nashville area is mourning the senseless death of one of the police officers wh9 was killed in a collision yesterday that was caused by a 17 year old young lady who ran a flashing red light while trying to avoid a traffic citation for driving needlessly with her high beams on. Not only was 5he police officer killed in 5he collision, her 18 year old female passenger who had to be hospitalized n critcal condition as result of her injuries.

The 17 year has been arrested and jailed and will be charged with vehicular manslauter (as a result of the police officers cdeath) vehicular assault (as a result of the 18 year 9ld girls injuries) and driving 9n a suspended license. It seems she is having to pay a much higher price than that ticket would have cost her. That price is called a stupid tax.

You can’t f8x stupid or so it is said.

But this put me in mind that we don’t have a national holiday to honor our first responders. We have two holidays for our military veterans 8n Vete4ans Day and Memorial Day. It causes me to question why we don’t have a day set aside for our law enforcement and fire/rescue heroes. We should.

Happy Independence Day everyone.

God Bless!

We should have a day.

I agree! I'm clueless o n who would declare a holiday, i.e. a representative, a senator or the president but the country should set aside a day to commemorate them, I think.
