Brody broke are date in Brody

Brody asks me out to a teen get together for 13 to 16-year-olds at the recreation center. I said yes I was so excited my first date and his I think.
I decided to be honest about why we moved here and what happened to me so
I told Brody what my stepdad had done to me and how messed up I am in my head he said he was sorry but it was not my fault and it didn’t matter to him. I told him about the trail and what happened he said I could talk about it if I wanted but didn’t have to because it didn’t change anything to him
But he texts me and canceled our date about an hour later. I ask him why he said. He said he was in trouble because when he was mowing his took his boots off because it had something in it and just left it off and it fell off the tractor and he ran over it with the bush hog and he didn’t have another pair so his grandma was mad and said when you make poor choices you just live with them. I think it was just a reason not to go since I told him everything. He swears it is just because his boot was destroyed so he only had a left boot now. I want to believe him but I’m not sure he didn’t makeup something up to get out of our date. I wouldn’t’ have gone out with me after I was told what he was told.
Brody still texted me but I think he is just being nice.
I like him so much he is so nice to me and was the first person I meet when we moved here.
I wish I could just stop crying I know I messed it up by telling him what happen my life sucks so bad.
