Nightmares in Diary

The whole Virgin saga still isn’t resolved. To update, when our TV broke about five weeks ago, we bought a new one from Currys and were told, if we took out a Virgin package, we could get £200 cash back and save £10 a month on our TV and broadband package. We already had Virgin, but the guy said all we had to do was cancel it, take out the new package in my name, as the old one was in Dave’s name, pretend he had moved out, and job done. Great.

Five weeks later, about 10 phone calls, many hours being passed around between different departments and three trips to Currys, we now have no TV and no broadband. Virgin have cancelled the package I took out as we were still connected at the time we took it out, and have told us we have to start again with a new order. So we had to go to Currys again today, where they refunded us for the TV and sold it to us again, so we could get a new receipt number to claim the £200 cashback, and take out a new Virgin account. Apparently they will be sending an engineer to connect us on 11th July. So we now have two weeks with no TV or broadband. Currys are apparently going to email me a £100 gift voucher, as well as the £200 cashback which I can claim in 28 days, as long as the new Virgin package has been installed. It had better all come through, it’s been a bloody nightmare so far!

Speaking of nightmares, we’ve decided to try and get Harrison into his own room and sleeping on his own. He’s still waking up four or five times a night every night and needing my boobs to settle back down. He also writhes around in his sleep, kicking and punching both me and Dave. I’m sure all three of us are waking each other up and none of us are getting much sleep. It doesn’t help that it’s really hot at the moment, which Harrison hates. Our bedroom is in the loft, which is about 25c at night time, it’s a lot cooler on the next floor down where Harrison’s room is. So we’ve dismantled Harrison’s cot as he’s spent a total of about two hours in there in the last 10 months, and built him a double bed. We’ve had to rearrange most of the upstairs to fit it all in. But the idea is for Dave to sleep with him to start with, to get him out of the habit of needing my boobs to sleep. And then gradually Dave moving back into our bedroom, to get Harrison used to sleeping alone. It does mean me and Dave have to sleep apart for a while, and will probably be horrendous for a week or so. But we’re hoping it will be short term pain for long term gain. All three of us might start sleeping better, and me and Dave will get our bed back to ourselves! Tonight is the first night…wish us luck!

My house is freezing all year round, it's only a benefit in the summer but I'm so glad of it. 30 is impossible!
