“For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.” Newton’s third law. Equal and opposite reaction. So when Cupid shoots you with an arrow, does that mean you shoot him back, perhaps with a gun? When one falls in love does one also fall in hate? Why does one “fall in” love? When do you stop falling? I think Cupid just gets bored and takes aim randomly just to see if he can make two people love each other. And in some cases, I think he only shoots one of the people. Cupid is one sick puppy!
Looking farther into the subject maybe some are immune to the love spell. Maybe instead of someone being jaded, they are just victims of the love anti-venom? Of course, since there are so many different degrees of love maybe Cupid is suffering from Alzheimer’s and he grabbed the wrong arrow. Whatever the case may be I for one, believe it to be a conspiracy. I think the reason he goes around shooting people is that he is incapable of love himself and wants to make everyone else miserable.
Whatever he is up to, sometimes his spells come on fast and last forever, then sometimes they come on slow and last only a few weeks. (Like those grade school and jr high romances.) It’s bad enough you have to deal with teenage hormones and then you add Cupid into the mix, no wonder our faces break out. He just shoot us with another foreign substance that we are unequipped to deal with.
I have no proof, but I really think Cupid is a Russian agent who is tampering with the 2020 Presidental Election. Of course, instead of love arrows he using some type of mind control that turns otherwise intelligent beings into mindless idiots. No wait, that sounds pretty much like the love arrow.
