So I started this at the advice of a friend, and then months passed and I kind of forgot about it. I've been sooo busy, but now (hopefully) things will have calmed down a bit. In any case, I figured I could at least start this journal, kind of introduce myself.
So, my name is Rebecca. I was on Open Diary for ages, but hadn't written there in at least a couple of years. I'm hoping some of my friends from there will be here, besides the aforementioned one. :-)
I have a husband, Ron, and a son, Jonathan...he turned 9 in October. He is going to a private school near our house, which is in the Napa Valley. He really enjoys it, and gets pretty much straight A's. We tried public schools but they have such crappy curriculum, at least around here, and had cut music, p.e., and so many other things. So now he has all of that, plus spanish and drama class...and he is finally VERY happy, and loves going to school. He hated it at public and every day was a battle to get him up and ready...so we are very happy now.
As for the rest of life, it's pretty average. I am a stay at home mom, but I have a bunch of medical problems so I have been trying to get on social security disability. I broke my pelvis/lower back area while I was 5 months pregnant with my son, then went through years of pain and battles to get surgery, which I FINALLY got after 5 years (it turned out my surgeons' P.A. was sending my paperwork to the WRONG insurance, so I was getting denied because they didn't even know who I was...how lame is that?) but then I got double pulmonary embolisms. So I fought for life yet again, gradually recovered...and thankfully, have been doing pretty well since then.
And now it's just day to day stuff, my son is fairly involved in karate and various activities, and we try to travel fairly often. We've been to a lot of gorgeous places, and I consider myself very lucky. I have a good family, pretty good life...other than a few rough years, I can't complain.
So there you have it. I am going to try to update on a regular basis, but we'll see. I do love to write, but sometimes it feels like I don't have anything to say that others would want to hear. :-)
