I did our taxes last night and we're getting $1300 back which is $200 more than last year. Somehow with another child I thought we'd get a lot more than last year but that's still a decent amount. Mike and I have separate bank accounts so we get $650 each really. I am still debating on what to do with it. I might put $500 on a credit card and leave the rest in my account to spend over time on this and that. I definitely won't splurge and spend it on something unnecessary because that's just not me. I got my $270 from winning the weight loss challenge recently and put most towards credit card debt and used a little bit for extra groceries since I usually stick to a strict budget. I feel good about that :) My husband owes his mom money from the trip they went on and some on his credit card so his will be taken up by that. Oh I might get a costco membership with part of mine too and buy a few things there once a month.
I have a freezer full of baby purees at the moment. It's so fun and easy making baby food with my magic bullet. Right now I have sweet potatoes, peas, carrots and apple in there and yesterday I bought mango, squash and pears to make sometime too. So far the only foods Miles hasn't liked are peaches and bananas but he hasn't tried everything yet. I'll try peaches again with him when I make my own sometime, he just might not have liked the jar of it I bought.
I'm really trying not to be too jealous right now because my brother, SIL and niece are on their way to visit my parents in Florida for a week. They're going to go to Magic Kingdom, Legoland and spend a bit of time at clearwater beach. Mike and I have been 3 times in the last 5 years and they haven't been at all so my brother asked me for advice. He annoyed the crap out of me though because he shot down all my advice. Like I told him it's good to go to the Disney parks right at open so u can do some stuff in the parks before they get super busy and he's like "that's not what I heard". What?! We went to all the parks all 3 times we visited and that was always the case. And I told him Seaworld is soooo fun they have to go and he's like nahhh I don't think Katie (my 5 year old niece) would like it. Wtf? Kids love stuff like that! He's so weird and different than us when it comes to vacations I just said whatever so I wouldn't get mad. I really wish it was us going though. Bleh.
Anyways, I'm so glad it's almost March so we can begin to have hope for some good weather. There's probably going to be so much flooding this Spring with the huge snowbanks everywhere. It will be nice to see grass again and have that beginning of spring where you fling the windows open and go out for the first time without coats and feel the sunshine on your face. Can't freaking wait!!
