Copper Promises in So-Called Daily Poetry

Copper promises,
made by the hands wearing them,
braided copper from
a hardware store spool;
Copper promises
that will with time and wear
fall apart and break down;
a reminder that promises
require regular re-promising,
that promises
fall apart when they
are all that there is to the promise.
