I’m mad at you
For not taking better care of your heart
I’m mad at you
For betting on people’s potential
I’m mad at you
For letting yourself be seen by the wrong person
I’m mad at you for not being more careful
For not being the one who’s guarded
With walls built high
But instead waving a flag
Practically begging someone to notice
To see and want you
I’m mad at you because you made yourself build fences
You weren’t good at it in the beginning
They were shaky twigs
Tied together with string
Wavering for anyone willing to take a second glance
I’m mad at you
Because you’ve gotten good at it now
You choose cement blocks
Instead of twigs
You choose to hold everyone at arms distance
Letting no one in
I’m mad at you
Because you were once the one
The one who loved fiercely
Who let yourself be seen with no fear
I’m mad because you turned into someone different
Someone who is jaded
and holds heavy baggage
I’m mad at you
Because you’re the person with walls so high you can’t see over the other side
You rather be alone then get hurt one more time
I’m mad at you
Because this is a note to me
I'm mad at you in emotions and thoughts
