Martin and I don’t really make a big deal out of Valentine’s Day anymore. It was our fifth one together, and after that long you come to realise that you don’t need a specified day to show your love to each other. We know we love each other, we don’t need fancy guestures to prove it.
I’ve just had a lovely weekend in his company. I got a card and some flowers :) I bought him a sat-nav, but it wasn’t really a Valentine’s present as he already knew about it and had picked it himself a couple of weeks before. He is really confident driving around locally, and to his work and back, but I think the sat-nav will help his confidence with motorways. He’s yet to brave one and I really want to go to Bluewater!
The rest of the weekend was quite lesuirely. We had lunch at ASK on Saturday, watched a lot of the Winter Olympics coverage (I am surprisingly captivated by Curling), flicked through A LOT of holiday brochures (Lanzarote is now the front-runner) and went to see Her at the cinema today. What a beautiful film. I would definitely recommend it. You know that a Joaquin Phoenix film is going to be a good film. I was almost crying! We have been to the cinema a lot recently. We have seen most of the BAFTA/Oscar nominated films! There have been some good films out already this year.
I’m not really looking forward to this week at work. I have a horrible feeling it’s going to be quite challenging. I have a couple of machine installs to sort, and they always take a lot of organising. On the flip side, this month is going scarily fast and it will be payday soon :)
