Remembering in The Blue nightgown

My mother was always sick. Actually I was never sure if she was really sick or just pretending to be. I remember coming home from school and she'd be in her blue nightgown, coughing and complaining. The nightgown stands out in my memories clearly because she had it forever and it was practically transparent. It bothered me to come home from school with friends and she'd have it on. It was very think material and you could clearly tell she didn't have a bra on. I didn't want to see that and I'm sure my friends didn't either.

I guess she was sick, one way or the other, i.e., if someone always thinks they are sick then often there is some type of mental illness (sickness) because who really wants to be sick? It must have been hard for you.
