Shallow Sea (A Poem) in Poems About My Day

Once I stood in a shallow sea.
I peered into a thick fog.
I saw nothing.

Deadened voices played in my head.
They were familiar.
no one had any distinction from another.

occasionally I could almost remember a face.
Maybe I was acquainted with them from a different life.
It could have been a lie.

At times the water would engulf me.
One Last gasp would be taken
My body would utter a small prayer.
