I essentially turned in my letter of resignation Monday. Hilary (my wife) and I are going on the reward cruise with Beachbody the last week of March (which is always our spring break at school) we put down our deposit January 6th of 2013 before this school year calendar came out. I thought the timing was prefect lol (guess not.) I'm offering to stay on because the only other assistant in my classroom quit a couple weeks ago. I was planning on quitting mid March. I wasn't going to put them in the position that they give me preferential treatment. I don't want to abandon my students or leave my lead teacher with 2 newbies. I am a replacement staff in the classroom. The first guy quit into the first month of school. I would be willing to stay on, but they would need to approve me going on this cruise as a leave without pay. I doubt that they will do that, so I'm waiting to see what happens. I don't want to say they owe me, but i've bled for these kids (twice landed in the hospital due to bites and once with a knee injury because I had fallen with a 250lb + student fell on me.) I've thrown out my back for this school. I was out for 2 months with that one. I've been struck in the head by an upset student throwing cups at me. I've had all 3 of my kids and haven't taken more than a couple days off when they were born. It's not I need them to do me a favor. It's more I want them to do my lead teacher and my students a favor. They need some consistency and stability. If they don't allow this mini vacation, it will be the end of my 11. 5 years at school. I will be a fulltime Beachbody coach if they don't allow it.
