Went to a funeral today, in a small town 167 kilometres away. It's been a long day, I left the house around 11.45 this morning and returned around 6.30 this evening. The funeral was at 3, and I wanted to get there in plenty of time as I'd never been to Small Town before.

Phil was 60 years old when he passed away last week. He was a stereotypical Aussie bloke - overweight, a smoker, a hat/short/shirt/thong wearing type of guy. A real Aussie sense of humour, intelligent (never went to Uni, but he had a wealth of experience in various fields over the years). He drove trains, had experience working with horses, loved snorkelling. An unpretentious, decent, hard working, honest bloke. He was one of those people you could talk to. There were so many people paying their respects today, there wasn't a spare seat anywhere. People had to stand at the back of the room. He meant that much to people.

RIP Phil....great knowing you. :(
