Got Morrowind up and running on my single-core piece of shit laptop at an acceptable framerate, using nothing more than the Graphics Extender. This is nothing short of a fucking miracle, because the Morrowind game engine is the most unoptimized piece of fail Todd Howard ever shat out - you need at least twice the recommended specs to get it running, and it still lags like a crippled retard.
Luckily, the game has been modded, spliced, dissected and otherwise fucked with for the last 11 years, which is groovy for people like me, because it means there are workarounds.
I played Morrowind on a fucking quad-core with some Satanic beast of a graphics card and it still lagged to fuck in Balmora, so there's no cure for that, but now on my less-than-stellar laptop, I've managed to gain an FPS increase in all areas, and Balmora doesn't lag too much at all - and all with the graphics options turned way the fuck up. Using the MWSE Launcher, the FPS Optimizer, and the MGXE, everything is running rather peachily.
I likes video-games.
It's just this second stopped pissing down. We're on the third floor, right at the top, and looking out the window was impossible up to a moment ago. I might take this opportunity to go smoke a Pall Mall.
