Busy Life in Life

Life has been a bit busy around here! I’m just going to bullet point some things.

  1. I’m pregnant! I’m due June 15th. And we just found out last week we’re having a girl!! I just went through all of Freddie’s old clothes and gave them to our friends who just had twins a little over 2 weeks ago. (They now have 5 boys…11, 3, 1, and twin 2 week olds)
  2. School has been pretty good. We had some drama leading up to our winter concerts, but it all got taken care of and the concerts were great. I just need to stay on top of my team and make sure they’re getting everything done they need to.
  3. Did I mention I was appointed the head of the music department at my school? Since there are three of us, my principal wanted one contact person and she chose me! It didn’t come with a pay raise or anything, but I’m glad to do it and it looks great for my tenure portfolio ;)
  4. Freddie has been great. He never stops talking and is super funny and stubborn. We were having issues with him eating, but it was because he was having too much milk. Now that we’ve cut down to one cup/day, he’s been a much better eater.
  5. We stayed home for Christmas this year. Dann had to work, so I didn’t want to leave him alone. It was awesome though! I loved being Santa and putting out the gifts and being able to see his face in the morning. It was also nice and quiet Christmas day. We just hung out in our PJs all day watching tv and playing with toys. It’s going to be hard not to do that every year…I love my family and Dann’s family, but it was just so nice to spend time with my little family. Very relaxing.
  6. We did have friends over Christmas Eve. Q, Krystal, Nadina, and Eric. Got to catch up with them, I made some good food and dessert, and just hung out. Everyone left by 10:30pm. Freddie was up late, but it’s Christmas so who cares lol.
  7. I need to clean out so much stuff before the end of break. I want to get rid of clothes we don’t wear anymore and clean out Freddie’s toys he doesn’t play with anymore. Probably going to do the toys tonight and put them in my car to drop off ASAP. He won’t even know they’re gone (I hope).
  8. My in-laws are gifting us their house here in Queens. We’ve been looking for a home or a condo for over a year with no luck, even with help from an organization that helps teachers find housing. The housing market here is insane. So, my in-laws have offered us their house, which is amazing and super generous. We all just need to sit and talk about logistics. One of the contingencies is probably going to be that my moocher brother-in-law is going to have to stay in the house. I’m hoping we can remodel the basement into a mini apartment for him and ask him for like $500/month for rent to cover water/heat/electricity/etc. It’s going to be a fight, which I’m not looking forward to, but the dude has been living there rent free his whole life. Either we can make an apartment for him and he can give us something towards utilities or he can move out. The house needs work too, so I’m hoping we can all sit down soon and figure it out. My MIL was supposed to come up for Thanksgiving, but my BIL stopped paying his student loans and the loan company froze my in-laws accounts (since they’re also on his loans as a back up). So they’ve been dealing with that. We’ll see!

Alright, thanks for reading! I’m going to try to get on here more often to help with my anxiety and such. I’ll have to set aside time once/week to write in here, at least to start. Hope everyone had a great holiday and has a happy new year!
