We took home our Christmas tree this afternoon. The place we bought it is a parking lot most of the year. We found a really cute tree that is about six feet tall. The guy who works there was telling us that they had lots of nine foot trees this year but most of the smaller ones sold out early. A nine foot tree would be a tight fit with our ceiling. He showed us some four foot trees, however they seemed too small. We found a cute one that was just the right size. I had read there was a Christmas tree shortage. Maybe that’s why a lot of the trees were sold out. I don’t remember having problems getting a tree before.

Timmy and Kayla are both going to be in the school musical in March. Timmy did not used to be interested in the theater. He has come around to it in the past year, and now he really likes acting. Kayla has always been more of a performer. She has been taking dance and gymnastics since she was small, and has gotten used to performing. The twins will be confirmed in our church this spring. They have been involved in a preparation program since the school year began.

We have been to visit several colleges. At this point it is more to get ideas of what colleges are available. I don’t think they’re ready to choose which colleges to apply to. They have almost a year before they need to start applying, so they have some time to decide.

Aaron is doing well in school. He is in the ski and snowboard club at school. They go to a downhill ski resort after school when the weather conditions are right. He seems to enjoy it. We have been skiing and snowboarding on vacations before. He has some experience, but he still has quite a bit to learn.

My work goes in cycles. I am busier now because the holidays are approaching. The extra income is nice. It will likely slow down after December.
