What do I consider “love” to be?
Hubby and I met many years ago, for those who don’t know, we were the first Open Diary couple. We both joined on the same weekend in November 1998 and were chatting nightly via phone and ICQ (who remembers it) by the end of March 1999. We’ve been officially together for nineteen and a half years, married for fifteen and a half.
Yeah, I still say ‘and a half’ because that half still counts. Every day, every hour, every minute counts.
Last night we went to a gig in Bristol, we saw an amazing guy from Chicago called Ryley Walker (if you haven’t heard of him, look him up - he’s the the most incredible guitarist). Anyway, so hubby and I were there at the front, utterly comfortable with one another and constantly aware of each other. Taking quick glances at each other and making eye contact sometimes, enjoying each other’s enjoyment with no irritation nor distrust.
We know each other’s moves, know what we’ll do and we respect each other, listen to each other, laugh with each other. When we’re together we’re usually touching somewhere -hands, feet or our legs may be entwined in bed. Hubby struggles to sleep sometimes and snuggles up to me when his mind is whirring in the early hours of the morning.
when one of us is tired or stressed, the other steps up to the plate. We just work like a perfectly choreographed ballet.
