Apologies for the scarcity of updates and notes lately. Overall we have been having a pleasant fall. Timmy and Kayla took the PSATs. They will take the SATs in the spring and again next fall. Kayla has been taking dance and gymnastics lessons. Her school had a dance recital a few weeks ago. Timmy has been playing on the school soccer team. They had a good team this year, and went a few rounds in the playoffs. The twins have been attending a driving school.

Aaron has been doing well in eighth grade. He made a throw pillow in consumer science class. He has also been learning how to prepare meals. The kids help with cooking at home, but of course it’s different at school with your classmates. Aaron has been running cross-country. They had their last meet a couple of weeks ago.

The kids went to our church Halloween party on the night before Halloween. They each wore costumes. Kayla went as Princess Leia. I was surprised that kids today are so aware of Star Wars characters, considering how long they have been around. Timmy went as Shrek and Aaron was a fighter pilot.

Kayla was asked to go trick or treating with the three-year-old girl she babysits for. The little girl’s parents and baby brother went with them. I was glad for this because supervising a small child out trick or treating is a lot of responsibility. I’m not sure Kayla is ready for that.

On Thanksgiving morning we had breakfast with my stepfather, stepsister, and her kids. It was nice catching up with everybody. We watched the Macy’s Parade. For Thanksgiving dinner we went to my husband’s sister’s place. They had one of the better turkeys I have had. It looked like one of those advertising pictures on pinterest.

We mostly lazed around this weekend. We went to Marshall’s on Friday afternoon. The kids picked out some clothes for an early Christmas present.
