I read this a decade after I read “The Once and Future King”, but I think of them together, as parts of a whole, and why I chose it for today.
My friend Alberta encouraged me to read this, and “loaned” me her hardcover copy. It was fun lugging it home on the train. It’s a big book. That was over 30 years ago, and it’s still on my bookshelf. Not cause it was too big to lug back, or too expensive to mai, but because I was amazed by it, loved it, didn’t want to part with it.
