My trip to Texas was a huge success on many levels: Jasmine and I finally met; her parents absolutely love me, and she's planning on coming here soon. I know it's been a while since I wrote the last entry, so here's the detailed recap.
The hotel I stayed at served continental breakfast until 9 a.m. I woke up too late to take advantage, but I went to the local Denny's for breakfast. I had the "Build Your Own" Slam with two pancakes, a biscuit, grits and two strips of bacon along with orange juice. I knew I wanted to wait until around noon to pick Jasmine up out of common courtesty, and I pulled up at her house around 1ish. To my surprise, her family had already left; they didn't want me to know she was home alone rolls eyes.
Anyway, the plan for the day was to travel to the local musem and then the mall afterwards. We stopped by a Dollar General store to purchase some necessities as well as for Jasmine to get money out of an atm. Since the museum had just opened, we decided to go back to the hotel for a little while.
We spent time cuddling and talking to friends on the phone and yahoo. We also spent time just talking about our relationship and taking pictures. We finally got up and left the hotel around 3 and headed to the museum.
Jasmine had been there previously, but she was eager to go again. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the curator and then allowed to go on our way. We visited several exhibits before deciding we wanted to get something to eat. Jasmine wanted a potato from the food court, so we were off to eat there.
The first stop was Sears, then we visited several stores including a pet store and radio shack. Since I recently purchased the Galaxy Note 3, I didn't have a cover for it yet; I was finally able to find one to my liking at the At&t store while Jasmine went to get her food. She wasn't able to get the potato she wanted, but she ended up getting a stromboli and a slice of pepperoni pizza. I wasn't quite as hungry, so I got a slice of pepperoni pizza.
I knew Jasmine wanted to go back to the hotel and watch movies on Netflix, so we packed up and headed back to the hotel. Since my hotel didn't have a microwave or fridge, we stopped by the Dollar General store one last time for some snacks. I got goldfish, a 2-liter pepsi and twizzlers for us. We made it back to the hotel and sat down to watch The Dark Knight. Unfortunately, we couldn't want The Dark Knight Rises or The Dark Knight, so we settled down to watch The Avengers instead.
After the movie, it was getting late, so I took Jasmine home around 10ish. We kissed briefly before she left to go in the house. I made it back to the hotel and just crashed for the night lol.
Sunday started out the same as Saturday. I overslept and went to Denny's again. This time, I got four pancakes and four strips of bacon. After breakfast, I picked Jasmine up and we headed to the local K-Mart to buy a jigsaw puzzle. We came back to the hotel and started piecing it together though we didn't have much luck lol. We were only able to piece the corners and border together before hunger overtook us. She wanted to get a blizzard, and I was craving Taco Bell, so we got in the car and got our food. We came back to the hotel and ate while also talking to friends on the phone. After we ate, we tried going back to working on the puzzle, but Jasmine wanted to take a nap. We took the opportunity to nap together for about 30 minutes.
As the evening rolled along, we didn't want the night to end, but I knew it was inevitable she would have to go back home. Since it was our last night together, I figured I would take her home earlier. Before that, we were trying to decide on whether or not we were going to get something to eat before dropping her off. We settled on Golden Corral, but my food wasn't quite as good as I expected bleh.
After that, I drove her home for the last time. We got out of the car, and I told her I was going to come in and see her parents before I went back to the hotel. I spent about five minutes talking with her parents and saying how glad I was to have met their daughter. To Jasmine's surprise, her mom actually asked me when I would be back. I told her I might come back in March, but I would definitely be back around summer. With that, I gave her parents a hug and headed to the my car.
Jasmine followed me outside, and with the last opportunity together, I showed her some of the constellations. I showed her Orion, the Big Dipper, the North Star, Antares, Taurus, Canis Major, Auriga, Cassiopeia, and Gemini. We kissed a few more times, but we knew it was time for me to go.
I got into my rental and tried my best not to tear up while I was in the driveway. Jasmine lived a few feet from the end of the street, and I was already in tears by the time I made it to the stop sign. I was so used to holding her hand while driving, it sucked reaching nothing but air on the way back :-.
We couldn't get together Monday because she had an appointment at 9, and I had a 2 1/2 hour drive back to the Dallas airport. Also, Dallas airport is...weird. Their rental car counter is seven miles away from the terminal, so you'll have to take a shuttle from the airport to the rental car counter. When you're dropping off the rental car, you have to know the exact terminal you're departing, so you can take the appropriate shuttle to the proper terminal scratches head.
I woke up Monday morning around 6 a.m. I went down to the lobby and grabbed some belgian waffles and some orange juice. I had everything packed and ready to go around 8:30. I made it to the Dallas/Ft Worth area around 10:30. Since I had still had about two hours before checking in, I decided to take a tour of Arlington, TX and Dallas Once that was over, I returned the rental and made it through security without a hitch. I stopped by the local Pizza Hut express for lunch then settled down to wait for my flight to arrive to Atlanta.
Our trip to Atlanta lasted around an hour and a half. Unfortunately, Trey wasn't ready to pick me up, so I ended up waiting almost two hours for him to show up. Enough recap. Here's some pics of the trip :-).
