in the stars in 2014

i had my 'charts' done a few weeks ago; it was an early birthday present from my mother-in-law and it was hugely insightful and desperately needed. basically, "Linda" asks for your date, time & location of your birth and the creates a chart based on all of the positions of the planets and the stars, and proceeds to tell you all the things you want to know about based on her interpretation of the universe. we covered business, 2nd babies, life with aaron and my general personality composition and i was continually surprised at how much she was spot on without really knowing me or my situation at all. ESPECIALLY when it came to business stuff.

my company is in a state of expansion. this is theoretically a Very Good Thing. but it doesn't come without growing pains. and ohhhhh the growing pains. since the company was founded in 2010 ( liana was the sole proprietor for the first year), we've added myself, a new partner and one full-time employee. we've hired many freelancers and contractors over the years, and each year when we look back, we realize we probably had enough money to hire another FT employee, but it's never something we could have projected. SO much of our work has been project vs. contract-based, so we literally never knew what the year ahead was going to look like.

until now-ish. in November 2013 we booked our first year-long contract and since it's guaranteed income, we hired our first FT employee in December 2013. it's great having someone that is super energized and kid-free, because she has (seemingly) all the time & energy in the world to make each project feel like it is receiving the attention it deserves. so good.

anyway, the lady who did the reading had a lot of caveats and "heads ups" in the area of business growth and expanstion and it was good to get a VERY objective read on the situation while i try to reconcile new models and methods as we try to ease our transition into the next evolution of "what we are."

so that is occupying a large portion of my brain activities at the moment and so i thought i'd come here and unload it a bit. my basic concern is this: liana is one of my best friends in the whole world, and that means more to me than anything. but this business is crtiical to my livelihood at the moment, so i need to make sure i am balancing what i need to get from work with what i need from our friendship. these growing pains have potential to create resentment, power issues and general frustration. but they also may mean that we can manifest a business that we've always dreamed about.

stealthily i tread...

Does she write it? Or is it recorded? It will be interesting to look back in a few years time to see how accurate she was

She records the phone conversation she has with you about it.. and then she gives you time for follow-up emails/chats to clarify or ask additional questions. It's pretty cool!!

It's tough being in business with friends. I opened my spin studio in FL with one of my best friends there, and it really took a toll on our friendship. We just basically had periods during the business when we had to be only business partners and not friends. It was hard, but I think that ultimately it's why we are still friends post-business, you know? Definitely tread stealthily... You can have both a successful business and a fulfilling friendship, but it's probably going to require (more?) boundaries to be set as the company expands. Boundaries are awesome, and they help everyone get on the same page and foster an understanding so when certain situations arise, the way they are handled aren't a surprise to anyone involved. :) So can you tell me who this lady is who read your chart?
