If I could go to an alternative timeline or reality, where would it be?

I could go all political and serious on your arses but this isn’t friends only and could suck in all sorts of effwits and trolls- although I’ve had some awesome ‘discussions’ on this ‘ere site when people I don’t know have taken umbridge at something I have written bwah ha ha!!

So, to avoid delving into the depths of trolldom I shall have a little fun rather than a little serious (why can’t serious be used as a noun, like fun can).

I would live in an idealised version of America in the 50s; the Back to the Future and Grease ideal where rock and roll rules and everything is brightly coloured and fun. Where life revolves around burgers, milkshakes and the drive-in. My ponytail would always be perky, my skirts would spin into a full circle and life would be peachy. That has been one of my goto fantasies since I was 13 and first heard Twenty Flight Rock (Eddie Cochrane) coming out of my brother’s bedroom. I didn’t know that housewives often self medicated to assuage the boredom, I didn’t know that racism was rife and that homosexuality was illegal. I just knew the images that the media gave me and I fell in love with the whole concept. So, my timeline would be a parallel one in which the parts of the 50s that appealed to 13 year old me existed without the negative sides.
