No jo mo 4 in Hot town, summery in the city - 2017

“People would think that I’m exaggerating, but until…”
… They invented a time machine, they would never know the truth. You see, when I was 23, I left all that I knew. I left my hometown, my family and friends. People who knew and accepted me. I moved a couple of thousand miles away from small town Yorkshire to the largest contiguous city in the United States (or at least it was). I knew that I had to say ‘yes’. So, a long time before the movie Yes Man came out, I made the same decision: that I would say yes to whatever people invited me to do.

Although it didn’t become crazy like in the movie, I did end up doing some stuff I may, otherwise, not have done. I canoed down an alligator filled river, I even swum in it! I went skydiving (although there is video proof of that one). I ended up in the Bahamas one weekend in July and played blackjack on a cruise out at sea on a different weekend (doubled my money from $50 to $100 and quit playing). I listened to the radio conversations between pilots and ground control at a local navy base and (unintentionally) swum with sharks (I hadn’t realised quite how many live in the ocean off the florida coast - a friend saw fins near me while I was swimming one day and shit herself!!). I swam with dolphins in the same way.

When I moved back to England, although this time to London, saying yes was just habit. I bounced on a huge bouncy castle for adults, went to comedy nights and slept in a park. I did many, many things and sometimes, just sometimes, I’m sure I must sound like I talk a whole load of bullshit but it’s all true.
