I cannot believe that 13 days from now I will be a married woman. I have been with Sal for over 6 years and engaged for over a year and a half. I also cannot believe that in about 3 months I will be a Mommy (well, I kinda already consider myself a Mommy!). I feel like these past couple of weeks have been filled with errands and wedding things. I have been running around like a wild woman. I have gotten a lot done though. Saturday my sister informed me that her dress was wrong. Right style, right color, zip up back instead of corset....shit! I found with Alfred Angelo all week and FINALLY got an answer yesterday that they are making her a new dress and it will be shipped to her by next Saturday. Doesn't leave her much time for alterations but I think she will only need some length taken up. Monday I brought my dress to the seamstress. She is going to take in 4 inches to start and then we can lace it up and see if she needs to take in more. WOW! Apparently Alfred Angelo (and myself) thought I would get larger by this time.
In other news, a family friend, a boy that i used to babysit, got in a really bad car accident this week.

Not sure of too many details just that he got in to an accident with a tractor (that's his car). This is about 10 mins from where I grew up (in the same town). From what I have heard they called Life Star but had to cancel because it was too foggy for them to land. It took them over 1/2 hour to get him out of the car and he has a shattered hip, knee, and pelvis among other injuries. He is going to need surgery every couple of days for the next month or so (from what they can tell right now). He is so lucky to be alive but I cant imagine the pain that he is going through, or his family. I have been checking in daily. I feel awful for them.
Wednesday I ended up in the hospital for a few hours. I had been dizzy for a couple of days and checked in with Heather and my friend Kristen who had a baby in February. Both suggested calling my doctor. After reviewing my symptoms they recommended that I head over to the hospital. This way they could get labs back much quicker and get me anything I needed immediately. One of my work friends drove me and rather than sitting in the ER I went up to the birthing center. They had my paperwork ready and were ready for me. They put the baby on the monitor for about an hour. Let me tell you, it was the sweetest sound to listen to that little heartbeat for an hour. They did some lab work and let me rest while they waited for the results and then the doctor. The nurse came to talk to me and then the doctor. My iron level is low (but not too low), my electrolytes are also low, and they also partly blame stress....weird, 2 weeks until wedding and 3 months until baby...cant imagine anyone being stressed ;) I got home around 8:30 that night and was EXHAUSTED!
I dont think I have too much else to report. I am 26 weeks pregnant...wooo hoooo. That is insane. This is flying by! I have known I was pregnant for 22 weeks now (well, as of Monday). Baby is about 2 lbs I believe. I feel the kicking/rolling around often but as I listened to the monitor, apparently I dont feel even 1/2 of the kicks! Weird and cool! The baby has a cool new trick of about a week where s/he likes to give a nice swift kick to my bladder. It feels great! I cant tell you how often I get one of those and suddenly feel like I am going to pee myself. LOVELY! Also, Heather, my best friend, is still pregnant. Ugh! She is due tomorrow. We all assumed she would go early since Lily was born a week and a half early. Oh, she's also my matron of honor.....mmm hmmm. So, this is interesting!
I think that's all for now! Be back soon!
