Non Fiction book about the authors hikes on the Appalachian trail which goes from Georgia to Maine.
I was disappointed he didn't do more of the trail or finish his trip through the 100 mile woods. That said there is no way I would even attempt something like this although the book did inspire me to want to go on a 10 to 15 mile hike somewhere closer to home.
My favorite quote from the book. "I have long know that it is part of Gods plan for me to spend a little time with each of the most stupid people on earth, and Mary was proof that even in the Appalachian woods I would not be spared."

Thank you for the review, it sounds somewhat interesting, at least the parts about mary. I added you to read more book entries.

I love all stories of hiking the Appalachian Trail. I did maybe fifteen miles with my father when I was little, which I know isn't much, but at the time it felt like a holy experience.

I've hiked 25 miles of the NCT in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Hiking part of Appalachia is on my bucket list. I might check the book, see what how that story pans out. NCT is challenging.
