Have had Mr Moose in the third session of Sit Means Sit. Wow what a difference.
Walks are so much better, we still tug. But it is not like it was. A correction and we “almost” walk side by side. If a say a command… Yes Sir he responds.

Sunday after Church 08/26/2018
The walk at 0845, instead of 0645 to 0715 am. The Middle Fork Trail. Three deer, all bucks and antlers on display. They have been on our side of the green belt. The trail branches again. To the right over the bridge you head up to Summit View Elementary, to the left you head up hill, as well, toward the Dad Clark Trail.

Three deer come up out of the drainage and hop over the trail. Two go back down into the Arroyo and the other Deer prances in the green belt. Moose sees them. Calm, and wondering in that dog brain “what are those”? We continue our walk, to the school and around. Catch the dirt maintenance road to the Middle Fork..cross and head up hill again. Meet the left hand fork back to the bridge.

Deer!!
The deer friends are back. They blast up out of the Arroyo, across the trail and down again. Moose and I are still walking, they are 100 feet or more away. Then they come up around where we are at. Like 8 to 10 feet away nose to nose. Moose is still calm, me, I like this but, again they are wild animals. They stop and stare, I nudge Moose and head toward the bridge. They cross the trail and head up toward some houses. These have been in our yard, a quarter mile west of our location. Was an interesting contact. A couple with a yap yap are watching as well.

life goes on..

There's nothing yappy about Moose.

I took Moose again for our walk. Used a different leash.. on a scale from 1-10 I'd give him a 9.6. slack no tugs... I knew there was something there. This is not the wild April 9th Moose, but a Moose, that knows he is loved and accepted. Been a tough haul, but I am not sorry that we got him. Without discipline, he'd be passed from foster to foster to maybe put down. A hidden "jewel" and it is starting to show
